More evidence I don't have an original thought in my head: just as I was eyeing up my built-in wardrobe, thinking it was big enough for a chair, small desk and (on the top shelf) a bunk, I found this picture of a work by Australian artist Adam Norton:
I shan't go into too much detail about the project here: this post on the Adaptive Reuse blog puts it much better than I can. Before you click through, though, I will ask you to consider the evidence that it is Prince, not Norton, who is wardrobe living's true pioneer:
