In May and November – shamelessly capitalising on Liverpool's newly christened cultural status – we produced our first vacation event: This is Culture at the Notting Hill Arts Club, which pitted our unique combination of poetry, live music and arts stuff against This & That and Le Gun magazines. Both events saw queues stretch down the street as a tourbus of Liverpool-ers followed us down for the battle.
We also took on our first education project in HMP Walton. Prisoners participated in a month of poetry workshops with Mercy writers, which culminated in a performance on the outside where commissioned actors read their work, at one of the last Fiction @ FACT events ever: Lockdown. Tears shed all over the shop.
