INFO:

Mercy Magazine is where it all started. For 5 years we produced a monthly photocopied fanzine; a brew of satire, parody and general rants about the local fallout of Liverpool’s bid to become Capital of Culture. After picking up early vocal and financial backing from the likes of Tony Wilson and Levi’s, plus national column inches in The Guardian, The Face and Dazed & Confused, Mercy went on to win the Curator’s Choice prize at the inaugural NOISE Festival, exhibited in Manchester’s Urbis gallery.

The magazine itself evolved over the years into a stylish quarterly periodical, distributed to over 30 indie outlets around the UK. With submissions open to anyone, it featured a combination of editorial and new creative writing and was illustrated by the best below—the—radar talent we could find. In 2008 we unceremoniously killed it off at the top of its game – but not before we were featured heavily in a BBC Radio 4 documentary, Zine Scene. Listen to it at the link, right.
