INFO:

Pigs Bladder Football is an ongoing project by the artist (and long-time Mercy collaborator) John O’Shea, commissioned for the Abandon Normal Devices Festival.

The project uses workshops, games and development activities to explore historic and material origins of the beautiful game. During 2011 this involved researching the age-old process of producing footballs made from the bladders of slaughtered pigs, and a series of attempts at manufacturing new balls from these methods – which were then used in competitive tournaments across the country.

In 2012, an attempt to grow a football from living cells is already underway, watch this space!

TESTIMONIAL:

I approached Mercy with a complex, unconventional and important project which I knew would need to develop and grow over the course of two years and they leapt at the challenge.

After crucial discussions, which really got to the heart of what this project is about, Mercy devised a very clever and adaptable brand including emblems, typeface, colour schemes and a web presence. The team were able to be very flexible - whilst keeping very focused on the end goal - and they could not have been more helpful or understanding when any changes needed to be made.

I would absolutely recommend Mercy.
