John Smith is a staggeringly-talented folk musician, a jaw-dropping live performer and luckily for us he is also a very dear friend. This, his second album, was recorded on a road trip across the Deep South – in hotel rooms, by roadsides and even in the toilet. When he wasn’t playing his guitar into microphones, John was taking plenty of photos – and it is this collection of personal snaps which form the basis of his sleeve artwork. Listen to this album, it is brilliant.
